I AM FAMILIAR AND EMPATHETIC WITH THE MANY INORDINATE ECONOMIC, PHYSICAL, AND OTHER CHALLENGES FACED BY SOME CHILDREN TO PERFORM WELL ACADEMICALLY IN A LARGE SCHOOL DISTRICT LIKE THE LAKOTA SCHOOL DISTRICT.
My life is similar to most of the parents in the Lakota School District and hence I understand their concerns related to the education of their children. I have been the wife of a Marine for almost 17 years. We have four children, two dogs, two cats, two guinea pigs and a snake. I grew up north of Dayton in a small farmer town, where I was a multisport athlete, played the Oboe for 7 years and was in the flag corp in high school. I went to a local college on a cross county scholarship.
Growing up, I had many foster children come in and out of my home from the Dayton area. When I was 14, I met my adopted brother when he was just three days old. I volunteered for the special education gym class in high school and had a job in college working for a paraplegic and students with cerebral palsy, taking care of their personal hygiene needs.
"My parents raised me to live a life of service", which is an essential aspect of the education profession. Many teachers and school board members are motivated by their love of serving children by preparing them to succeed in life. Along with working full time, I am a wife, a mom, as well as a volunteer in my community and my church. My volunteer work has taken me to Jamaica, Italy, Switzerland, and a Hopi reservation in Arizona. Also, I have been a coach for Girls on the Run. If elected to the Lakota School Board, I will focus my desire to serve in working with the Superintendent and teachers to provide the children an exceptional education. My goal is to help make the district's school system become one of the top 20 best academic districts in Ohio.
My work experience also has prepared me for a role on the school board and the ability to manage finances, make tough decisions, communicate well with others, as well as ensure the most qualified candidates are hired. I have over 20 years of experience in retail, with 17 years of management. I managed multimillion-dollar stores, ensuring the profit aligns with companies' vision and exceeded their goals. As a store manager, I found ways to drive sales, hire and evaluate talent, handle customer issues, and inform supervisors of any situations that could negatively impact our company expectations. This experience will be used to help tackle the major upcoming facilities upgrades and other challenges facing the district.
I am very proud of my athletic accomplishments. I competed as a body builder on stage three times and ran three half marathons, finishing in the top every time. This takes focus, self-control, and dedication to the sport. Whether in sports or business, I have always been a top performer while producing exceptional results.
"I understand where we are as a nation and the peril looming over us. I am a concerned parent who sees the future generations being set up for failure by the school system." I will advocate for the students' needs and focus on student academic achievement, not racism, sexual orientation or how bad America is. Also, it is imperative that Lakota's curriculum include teaching of the Constitution, Bill of Rights and the Declaration of independence and how it pertains to our personal freedoms and liberty. I maintain a sense of concern for the community served by the Lakota School District through involvement in multiple organizations including Butler County Republican Women's Club, the West Chester Tea Party, as a Red Hat in Ohio Freedom Coalition who is fighting Critical Race Theory (CRT), along with Stop Critical
Race Theory.com.
I am extremely concerned about the elements of CRT, that have been allowed in our school system by the majority of the current school board. CRT is hateful and divisive to our children. With CRT, we are telling our students they should focus on their differences, and that white people are oppressors of the minorities, who are oppressed (victims). This is not okay. Also, it is important that true biology be taught to our children. Boys are boys and girls are girls. Boys should not be able to compete in girls' competitive sports. This is damaging to our daughters. And finally, the failures of America are not unique, but our achievements are. No other country has made the progress in achieving racial equality as America. People come from all over to enjoy the equality and liberty available in America. We need to teach the greatness of America to our students.
I am blessed with boundless energy, which enables me to work harder and longer than most people. I will use this energy to fight to keep our children safe, free from destructive ideologies, challenged academically in one of the top 20 school districts in Ohio, and to love America as a champion of liberty.
I am very passionate about the welfare of America and the Lakota School District. I have kept up with current events, which has led me to my involvement in the community's political circle. This action has resulted in my participation at the Lakota School Board meetings. As part of one of the first groups to speak up against CRT. I demonstrated that I am bold, courageous, and someone that can protect our students and stand against the detrimental indoctrination that is negatively impacting the students' academic achievement.
